Military Installations

The Urban Heritage Project has led several projects centered on cultural landscapes with past and/or present military uses, including 7 of the 19 sites in the Civil War Defenses of Washington (sites used as forts to protect the federal capital during the Civil War, then later converted to use as parks), as well as two historic military installations that remain in active use by the United States Army.
